Nara is an FDA registered, American formula that is made in Germany. We follow EU food safety standards (some of the strictest requirements in the world), and our manufacturing partner in Germany has over 70 years of experience making top European infant formulas.
Our approach to quality and safety testing
- We meet U.S. and EU food safety requirements for baby formula
- Meeting EU food safety standards means we test for contaminants which are regulated by the EU with maximum limits (such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic) but do not have specific limits in the U.S.
- We extensively test every batch of Nara’s formula at an ISO accredited external lab
- We test for heavy metals including lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury
- We test for other environmental contaminants like pesticide residues, BPA, and acrylamide, as well as microbial contaminants (i.e. cronobacter)
- All of our heavy metal testing results have shown non-detected or very low levels (well below daily limits)
- The Clean Label Project also independently tests our formula (in addition to the testing above). They test for chemicals of concern, including heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury), glyphosate, BPA, pesticides, and phthalates
- We won the Purity Award and the Pesticide-Free Award from the Clean Label Project. You can view our certificate here.
