Babies will regulate how much they eat according to their needs, so this is just a guide. On average, your baby should take in about 2½ ounces of formula a day for every pound of body weight. When caring for twins, start by choosing double the usual monthly supply. As you evaluate how each baby feeds, you can change the amount of infant formula you order based on their needs. Always talk to your pediatrician if you have questions about your baby’s specific needs.

  • Organic prebiotics to support soft poops
Preparation & Mixing Guide

PLEASE NOTE: Nara uses a 1:1 ratio of water and powder. Add 1 unpacked, level scoop of powder to every 1 oz of water.

Proper hygiene, handling and storage are important when preparing infant formula. Ask your baby’s doctor if you need to use cooled, boiled water and if you need to sterilize bottles, nipples and rings before use.

  1. Wash hands, surfaces, and bottle before preparing
  2. Pour water into bottle. Measure and add powder to water (1 scoop per ounce of water).
  3. Return dry scoop to can. Cap bottle and shake well.
  4. Feed baby within one hour and discard any leftovers

Nothing else like Nara exists today.

Nara is creating a new standard for your baby. Here's what makes Nara a one-of-a-kind formula.

1. Nara is made in Germany.

We're an American formula made in a state-of-the-art facility in Germany. Our manufacturing partner has made top European infant formulas for decades, and Nara meets EU food safety standards, some of the strictest in the world. We also meet U.S. standards and we’re FDA registered.

2. The most organic whole milk.

Babies need 50% of their calories from fat, so we start with the nutritious fat in whole milk. Nara has the most organic whole milk of any formula in the U.S. — we received a special designation from the FDA in order to use this level of milk fat. Developing research suggests that MFGM in milk fat helps support babies’ gut health, brain development, and immune system.

3. Nara’s recipe is completely unique.

We spent 7 years working with scientists and pediatricians to create our formula. Nara is the only American, USDA organic whole milk formula available today that has successfully completed a clinical trial. Unlike other American whole milk formulas that use a mix of whole and skim milk, Nara doesn't rely on a past clinical trial of a skim milk formulation.

4. We focus on brain and gut health.

We include DHA and ARA, as well as inositol and choline, to support brain development (all at levels found in global breastmilk averages). We also add organic GOS, a prebiotic derived from organic lactose, to support digestion and soft poops.

We’re ingredient obsessed. You?

FAQ

FAQ

How much formula do I need?

At Nara Organics, we know that every baby has different feeding and nutritional needs. For general guidelines, you can check out our feeding chart for both formula feeding and combo feeding (50/50 formula and breastmilk).

The amount of formula your baby needs depends on several factors, including their age, their weight, and whether they're drinking all formula or combo feeding. If you’re fully formula feeding, your baby should take in about 2½ ounces of formula a day for every pound of body weight on average (according to the American Academy of Pediatrics).

For Nara, our general rule of thumb is to start with the 6 pack for babies who are fully formula feeding, and to start with the 4 pack for babies who are combo feeding (50/50 formula and breastmilk) at any age between 0-12 months.

This is just a guide, and you should always talk to your pediatrician if you have questions about your baby’s specific needs!

How do I start a new formula?

Always consult your baby’s doctor before you consider using or switching formula. Starting a new formula can feel overwhelming, but often it’s very simple, so let’s start there!

Many babies can start drinking a new formula right away with no fuss. It’s always worth trying a bottle and seeing how it goes. They might make faces or spit/dribble a bit at first because babies are predisposed to sweet tastes (like breastmilk) and this is a new flavor. Babies also have a general tendency to reject something new (just wait until they start solids!).

If your babe wasn’t thrilled about a new formula, fret not. Some babies may take more time to get used to a new taste. One way to ease the transition is to mix prepared Nara infant formula with breastmilk.  If you do mix them together, it’s recommended that you carefully prepare the formula before mixing with breastmilk.

Babies have gas (no matter what they’re eating), and their poop changes with their diet, so as you introduce Nara, your babe’s poop may look or smell different. This is normal! Our infant formula includes prebiotics which supports healthy digestion and may help with soft poops.

If you suspect that your baby isn’t tolerating the formula well, be sure to address this with your pediatrician immediately.

Is it ok to give my baby whole milk infant formula? I thought whole milk was for 12+ months.

Our infant formula is a complete food for babies 0-12 months. The organic whole milk we use in our formula is wholesome and safe, and is combined with other ingredients to ensure your baby is getting the complete nutrition they need. Most infant formulas use skim cow’s milk — we use whole.

Cows’ milk on its own (straight from the carton) can’t provide complete nutrition for infants and isn’t recommended for babies in their first year as a sole source of nutrition.

Is Nara Organics formula easy to digest?

Yes, our formula is designed to be easy on tummies. We use an easy-to-digest whey:casein ratio of 60:40 that mimics mature breastmilk.

Also, lactose is the primary carbohydrate in our formula and acts as a prebiotic to support healthy bacteria in your baby's gut.

Are you a U.S. formula or a European formula?

We’re a U.S. formula and we meet all FDA requirements. Esther is an American mom who struggled to find a formula she felt confident feeding her daughter.

Our formula is made in a state-of-the-art facility in Germany. Why? Because we’re setting a new standard in baby formula, and the EU has some of the strictest formula food safety standards in the world. Simply put, our facility in Germany is an incredible place to make formula, and we perform 2,000+ safety and quality tests on our formula. We think this gives Nara babies the best of both worlds.

    Perfect transition/combo feed

We love Nara! It was a seamless transition for our little guy from breast milk when we needed to supplement when my supply dipped in his early weeks. Now that I’m weaning from breastfeeding, his bottles are primarily this formula and he does great! We feel confident in our choice to feed him formula knowing it’s of the highest quality and standards.

    The.best.

My baby absolutely loves this formula and took right to it after being EBF since birth. This is a beautiful product with quality ingredients!

Nara obtained a new FDA clearance to be able to use the highest amount of cows' whole milk in U.S. infant formula.

The beneficial health outcomes in infants have been demonstrated in studies where infants have consumed formula enriched with MFGM fractions.
