RE: The ByHeart Infant Formula Recall

You may have heard about ByHeart’s recent infant formula recall. As parents, we know news like this can be concerning and stressful. We're thinking of all families feeding their babies today.

We want to reassure you that Nara Organics is not affected by this recall. Your baby’s safety is our highest priority, and we hold ourselves to the most rigorous standards in the industry. Below, we’ve outlined how we make our formula and the safety protocols we follow to ensure every batch meets the highest quality and safety standards.

How we manufacture Nara Organics Infant Formula

  • Nara is an FDA registered, American formula that is made in Germany
  • Our manufacturing partner has over 70 years of experience making top European infant formulas at their state-of-the-art facility
  • We meet both U.S. and EU food safety requirements for infant formula including microbiological and heavy metals testing
  • We extensively test every batch of Nara’s formula at an external lab that is accredited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • The Clean Label Project independently tests our formula, and as a result, we’ve been awarded the Clean Label Purity Award and the Pesticide-Free Award
  • The first ingredient in our formula is organic whole milk. We never add skim milk, corn syrup solids, palm oil, soy, or GMO ingredients
  • We safely import our formula from Germany, then ship it to families from our U.S. distribution centers — no tariffs, no overseas shipping, no lengthy delays

One final thought.
When there’s an issue with U.S. infant formula manufacturing, there’s often an instinct to buy European formula that’s not FDA registered or authorized to be sold in the U.S. If any nutrition, safety, or quality issues arise with these products, you may not be informed about recalls.

Our founder, Esther, wanted a German formula for her baby, but one that was also registered with the FDA, and that’s why she created Nara Organics — to give parents a safe, regulated way to feed formula that meets the highest possible standards

If you need assistance finding the right formula, please talk to your pediatrician or reach out to our medical team anytime at hello@nara.com. We’re here for you. 💙

Babies will regulate how much they eat according to their needs, so this is just a guide. On average, your baby should take in about 2½ ounces of formula a day for every pound of body weight. When caring for your twins, start by choosing double the usual monthly supply. As you evaluate how each baby feeds, you can change the amount of infant formula you order based on their needs. Always talk to your pediatrician if you have questions about your baby’s specific needs.
