American formula made in Germany.

The EU has some of the strictest food safety standards in the world.

Our German manufacturing partner has 70 years experience making top European formulas. Your baby’s safety is our top priority.

Nara is raising the bar. Here’s how.

Nara is raising the bar. Here’s how.

1. Nara is made in Germany.

Our manufacturer is a state-of-the-art facility in Germany that has made top European infant formulas for decades. Our formula meets EU food safety standards, some of the strictest in the world. We also meet U.S. standards and we’re FDA registered.

2. Whole milk is our hero.

Babies need 50% of their calories from fat, so we start with the nutritious fat in whole milk. Developing research suggests that MFGM in milk fat helps support babies’ gut health, brain development, and immune system. Nara has the most whole milk of any formula in the U.S.

3. Nara’s recipe is completely unique.

We spent 7 years working with scientists and pediatricians to include the most milk fat possible in our recipe.* This took research, rigorous ingredient sourcing, a new FDA designation, and a double blind clinical trial.

4. We focus on brain and gut health.

We include DHA and ARA, as well as inositol and choline, to support brain development (all found in breastmilk). We also add organic GOS, a prebiotic derived from organic lactose, to support digestion and soft poops.

We’re ingredient obsessed. You?

Babies will regulate how much they eat according to their needs, so this is just a guide. On average, your baby should take in about 2½ ounces of formula a day for every pound of body weight. When caring for twins, start by choosing double the usual monthly supply. As you evaluate how each baby feeds, you can change the amount of infant formula you order based on their needs. Always talk to your pediatrician if you have questions about your baby’s specific needs.

Quality & Safety

Safety is our first priority at Nara. We go above and beyond the requirements to make sure our formula is safe for your baby.

  • Nara is FDA registered and meets all requirements for nutrition and quality
  • Demonstrated to support healthy growth through our own trailblazing clinical trial
  • 2,000+ quality checks
  • Traceability of every can
  • Clean Label Purity Award
Are you a U.S. formula or a European formula?

We’re a U.S. formula and we meet all FDA requirements. Esther is an American mom who struggled to find a formula she felt confident feeding her daughter.

Our formula is made in a state-of-the-art facility in Germany. Why? Because we’re setting a new standard in baby formula, and the EU has some of the strictest formula food safety standards in the world. Simply put, our facility in Germany is an incredible place to make formula, and we perform 2,000+ safety and quality tests on our formula. We think this gives Nara babies the best of both worlds.

What is the Clean Label Purity Award?

The Clean Label Project is a nonprofit that independently tests foods and consumer products for contaminants like heavy metals and pesticides. Their organization is “dedicated to bringing truth and transparency to food and product labeling.”

The Clean Label Purity Award is a mark of excellence, showing that Nara Organics has been deeply tested for hidden contaminants like heavy metals and pesticides, and shows that our formula goes beyond minimum requirements to create truly clean nutrition for your baby.

Is your formula easy to digest?

Yes, our formula is designed to be easy on tummies. We use a whey:casein ratio of 60:40 that mimics the protein blend of mature breastmilk.

Also, lactose is the primary carbohydrate for energy in our formula, which supports healthy bacteria in your baby’s gut. We also add prebiotics to support your baby’s digestion and to help with soft poops.

Why do you add prebiotics to your formula?

Prebiotics support your baby’s digestion and gut health. A healthy gut can also help with soft poops

Did Nara conduct a clinical trial?

Nara Organics is a truly unique, built-from-scratch formula, and we performed an independent clinical trial in order to be FDA registered. With a talented group of scientists and pediatricians, as well as the participation of parents and babies, we conducted a double blind randomized controlled hybrid trial showing that our formula is safe, supports healthy growth, and is well-tolerated by babies.

Do you test your formula for heavy metals?

Yes, we test extensively for heavy metals and other environmental contaminants. We meet both U.S. and EU food safety standards, performing 2,000+ safety and quality tests on every batch of formula. We’re also independently tested by the Clean Label Project and have won the Purity Award, which also includes additional testing on heavy metals, including lead and arsenic.

Why do you have seed oils in your formula?

Every infant formula (0-12 months) in the U.S. and EU contains some amount of seed oils in order to provide the necessary fatty acids and calories for growing babies. Fatty acids are a critical part of infants’ brain development and overall growth — babies require nearly 50% of their calories from fat.

We use the most whole milk fat of any formula sold in the U.S., then we add a blend of plant-based oils rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. Because we use a higher amount of milkfat, we're able to add less vegetable oils. The oils in our organic vegetable oil blend are organic, non-GMO, and extracted without the use of hexane.

This blend of organic milk fat and organic oils makes Nara special and brings the fatty acid composition in our formula closer to breastmilk.

Who started Nara Organics?

Nara Organics was created by our founder, Esther. When her daughter (Nara!) was born 8 years ago, Esther had trouble breastfeeding and had to research formula options quickly. She couldn't find an infant formula she felt confident feeding her baby. Why skim milk? Why soy? Why corn syrup solids?

Determined to find a solution, Esther spent over seven years collaborating with scientists, pediatricians, and nutritionists to create an organic infant formula based on whole milk. Nara’s formula is simple, clean, and nutritious. Every ingredient is carefully sourced and our formula meets both U.S. and EU food safety standards.

7 years in the making, Nara Organics is the first whole milk formula (with no skim milk!) that’s USDA organic certified.

Preparation & Mixing Guide

Nara uses a 1:1 ratio of water and powder. Add 1 unpacked, level scoop of powder to every 1 oz of water.

Proper hygiene, handling and storage are important when preparing infant formula. Ask your baby’s doctor if you need to use cooled, boiled water and if you need to sterilize bottles, nipples and rings before use.

  1. Wash hands, surfaces, and bottle before preparing
  2. Pour water into bottle. Measure and add powder to water (1 scoop per ounce of water).
  3. Return dry scoop to can. Cap bottle and shake well.
  4. Feed baby within one hour and discard any leftovers
