Information for Families Affected by the ByHeart Recall

Our hearts go out to every family affected by the infant formula recall. As parents who formula feed, we truly understand how stressful this situation is.

Be assured that Nara Organics is not affected by this recall. Your baby’s safety is our highest priority, and we hold ourselves to the most rigorous standards in the industry. Below we're sharing information about Nara Organics Infant Formula: Our ingredients, where we’re made, and our safety protocols.

We hope we can help ease this time for you. Reach out to hello@nara.com with any questions, we're here for you. 💙

Ingredients in Nara Organics Infant Formula

Nara Organics is a U.S routine infant formula that meets all the nutrient and safety requirements regulated by the FDA. If your baby has been happily drinking a routine, cows' milk formula, you should be able to switch to Nara.

If you have any concerns about your baby's nutritional needs, always talk to your pediatrician.

  • The first ingredient in our formula is organic whole milk. We never add skim milk.
  • We provide as much fat as possible from whole milk, then we add organic plant based oils, including coconut oil
  • Lactose is our major carb providing energy for babies, similar to breastmilk
  • Our 60/40 whey to casein ratio is an easy-on-tummies protein blend that mimics mature breastmilk
  • We add organic GOS as a prebiotic to support digestion and soft poop
  • We include DHA and ARA (both found in breastmilk) to support brain development
  • We never add skim milk, corn syrup solids, palm oil, soy, fish oil, or GMO ingredients

How we manufacture Nara Organics

  • Nara is a clinically studied and FDA registered, American formula that is made in Germany
  • Our manufacturing partner has over 70 years of experience making top European infant formulas at their state-of-the-art facility
  • We meet both U.S. and EU food safety requirements for infant formula including microbiological and heavy metals testing
  • We extensively test every batch of Nara’s formula at an external lab that is accredited by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
  • The Clean Label Project independently tests our formula, and as a result, we’ve been awarded the Clean Label Purity Award and the Pesticide-Free Award
  • We safely import our formula from Germany, then ship it to families from our U.S. distribution centers — no tariffs, no overseas shipping, no lengthy delays

    How to switch formulas

Here are some tips for switching formulas. PLEASE NOTE: Nara uses a 1:1 water to powder ratio. Many formulas use a 2:1 water to powder ratio, so this would be an important change when mixing bottles.

Babies will regulate how much they eat according to their needs, so this is just a guide. On average, your baby should take in about 2½ ounces of formula a day for every pound of body weight. When caring for your twins, start by choosing double the usual monthly supply. As you evaluate how each baby feeds, you can change the amount of infant formula you order based on their needs. Always talk to your pediatrician if you have questions about your baby’s specific needs.
