Nara is raising the bar. Here’s how.

1. Nara is made in Germany to strict standards.

Our manufacturer is a state-of-the-art facility in Germany that has made top European infant formulas for decades. Our formula meets EU food safety standards, some of the strictest in the world. We also meet all U.S. standards and we’re FDA registered.

2. Whole milk is our hero (never skim).

Babies need 50% of their calories from fat, so we start with the nutritious fat in whole milk. Developing research suggests that MFGM in milk fat helps support babies’ gut health, brain development, and immune system. Nara has the most whole milk of any formula in the U.S.

3. Our formula recipe is completely unique.

The Nara team spent 7 years working with scientists and pediatricians to include the most milk fat possible in our recipe. This took research, rigorous ingredient sourcing, a new FDA designation, and a double blind clinical trial.

4. We focus on brain and gut health.

We include DHA, ARA, inositol, and choline to support brain development, all at the average levels in mature global breastmilk. We also add organic GOS, a prebiotic derived from organic lactose, to support digestion and soft poops.

The best of all worlds, baby.

Incredible nutrition. German-made quality. American convenience.

FAQ

FAQ

Is Nara Organics formula easy to digest?

Yes, our formula is designed to be easy on tummies. We use an easy-to-digest whey:casein ratio of 60:40 that mimics mature breastmilk. Like breastmilk, lactose is the primary carbohydrate in our formula and acts as a prebiotic to support healthy bacteria in your baby's gut.

Nara Organics also includes organic GOS, a prebiotic. We add prebiotics to our formula to support healthy bacteria in your baby’s gut, which can aid with digestion and help with soft poops.

We also include the most whole milk fat of any formula in the U.S. Naturally occurring milk fat can help support babies’ gut health.

What is Nara’s approach to quality and safety testing?

At Nara, your baby’s safety is our highest priority. We take a multi-layer, proactive approach to product quality and safety. Nara is an FDA registered, American formula that is made in Germany. We follow EU food safety standards (some of the strictest requirements in the world), and our manufacturing partner in Germany has over 70 years of experience making top European infant formula.

We extensively test every batch of Nara’s formula at an ISO accredited external lab. We test for heavy metals including lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury. We also test for other environmental contaminants like pesticide residues, BPA, and acrylamide, as well as microbial contaminants (i.e. cronobacter). Every batch of our formula meets EU testing standards.

Is Nara a U.S formula or European formula?

We’re a U.S. formula and we meet all FDA requirements. Our founder, Esther, is an American mom who struggled to find a formula she felt confident feeding her daughter.

Nara Organics formula is made in a state-of-the-art facility in Germany. Why? Because we’re setting a new standard in baby formula, and the EU has some of the strictest formula food safety standards in the world. Simply put, our facility in Germany is an incredible place to make formula, and we extensively test our formula to EU standards.

We safely import our formula from Germany, then ship it to families from our U.S. distribution centers — no tariffs, no overseas shipping, no lengthy delays. We think this gives Nara babies the best of both worlds.

Is Nara available in stores?

Nara is available at Target stores nationwide, perfect for grabbing an extra can. You can also buy Nara Organics right here on our website, with savings and free shipping on monthly subscriptions.

Why do you use whole milk in your formula?

The simple answer: We use organic whole milk because it’s filled with naturally occurring, nutritious fats that support your baby’s growth and brain development. Other formulas use skim milk (or a mix of skim and whole), which lowers their milk fat content. Nara has the most whole milk of any U.S. formula.

The longer answer: Whole cows’ milk and breastmilk (but not skim milk or vegetable oils) naturally contain fats in the form of fat globules; each globule is enveloped by a layered membrane. The membrane —called the milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) — consists of many different components that may play a role in infant health outcomes, including neurodevelopment benefits, immune system, and gut health benefits, just to name a few.

Nara obtained a new FDA clearance to be able to use the highest amount of whole milk (and therefore milk fat) in U.S. infant formula.

The beneficial health outcomes in infants have been demonstrated in studies where infants have consumed formula enriched with MFGM fractions.

Babies will regulate how much they eat according to their needs, so this is just a guide. On average, your baby should take in about 2½ ounces of formula a day for every pound of body weight. When caring for your twins, start by choosing double the usual monthly supply. As you evaluate how each baby feeds, you can change the amount of infant formula you order based on their needs. Always talk to your pediatrician if you have questions about your baby’s specific needs.
